Unsung Heroes.

Whenever any adversity befalls us, the reflexive response is to deny the very happening of an unforeseen event. But once the reality seeps in, we get an idea of the level of damage that has befallen us. No one plans for uncertain situations, yet everyone is ready to make peace once it descends. That says a lot about human resilience. We get bruised, wounded, shattered, yet again rise every morning like a new sun waiting to illuminate the entire world. We bite the bullet and pretend as if nothing is ever going to break us. The ability to bounce back is exceptional in itself. But the problem lies in shielding and putting up a brave face even in front of ourselves.

Nevertheless, there is a taboo attached to negative feelings. A person is expected to abstain from being sad, mad, cross, and the list goes on. Collect all the adjectives that are synonymous with negative feelings or emotions, and you are supposed to either suppress them or even discard them for life. There is hardly a place to give them a proper vent. You see, when a child cries, he tries to cry as much louder as he can, but then take an adult; all you will listen is muffled voices that too even when no one is around. I am not implying that we should act like kids and let out our frustration by crying louder. Instead, we should allow ourselves to embrace the very notion of crying in front of ourselves without fearing that someone might overhear.

Come teenage, we all have the new sort of responsibilities to handle. We feel as if the entire world is against us, and we are all alone without any armor to protect us. But then, when adulthood knocks on the door, an entirely different world opens up in front of us—ranging from expectations of family, dreams of self, a fully developed self-image, a complete knowledge of SWOT. But even then, we aren’t fully prepared to face any untoward adversity. But as they say, the vagaries of time always come along. Though we come out of it, not only today or tomorrow but for endless days. We don’t let our shield down but make our armor stronger. We all are unsung heroes of ourselves. Face the hardship, buckle up, fight the things with an unnerving attitude, and coming out victorious. A victory is not always about winning.  To all the unsung heroes of past, present, and future, pull up the socks as you might lose the battle, but you will win the war. Each day counts, every effort stands witness to your undying spirit, every dream has a right to come true, and every struggle has time to end.
