About Pari Mahal

There are beautiful lakes, ancient monuments, and beautiful gardens and one such monument is Pari mahal which was a royal observatory in the earlier times. It has a special significance among the tourists. Pari Mahal is close to Cheshma Shahi, which is the smallest Mughal Garden in Srinagar.
Meaning of word Pari Mahal
The word Pari Mahal means The Fairies palace. It has a beautiful seven terraced garden that overlooks the city of Srinagar from the peak of the Zabarwan hills. The garden is located towards the South-west of Dal Lake. Pari Mahal belongs to the Mughal period hence its architecture displays the beautiful Mughal and Islamic architecture. The place had some ruins of a Buddhist Monastery before the mid-1600s. Later the Mughal prince Prince Dara Shikoh constructed this beautiful architecture at the same sight.
About architecture
The Garden has a small spring in addition it is surrounded by beautiful flowers and ornamental plants arranged out in terraces. The monument is lightened in the night and the illuminated building at the top of the hill can be seen from most of the places in Srinagar. This splendid monument reveals the depth of the taste of the Mughal emperors. The remains of the building describe the rich history of the Mughal period. In addition, it is one of the most unique places to
