About Aharbal Waterfall
Aharbal is the most popular waterfall in Kashmir. It lies in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. Furthermore, Aharbal is in a bowl of the alpine valleys which is covered in pine and fir trees. This valley is within the Pir Panjal Mountains and is18 km from the town of Shopian and 28 km from Kulgam. Its altitude is 2266 meters. Veshu falls noisily from a height of 25 meters and through 7 meters wide narrow gorge of granite boulders at Aharbal. Veshu is one of the main tributaries of the Jehlum river. Niagara Falls of Kashmir is another name for Aharbal falls. This is due to the volume of the water that falls. The terraces which lead to Aharbal falls have been fenced. Furthermore, care is important to avoid slipping or falling.
