 Kheerbawaani:

Ksheer Bhawani is another name for Kheer Bhawani.  This temple has been dedicated to the Goddess Kheer Bhavani. The temple lies over a sacred spring. Worshiping Kheer Bhawani is common among the Hindus of Kashmir. The temple is located at a distance of about 14 miles from Srinagar in the village Tul Mul. The term kheer means rice pudding it is a dish and it is offered to the Goddess. Hindu deities, have many names and the same applies here, Maharagya Devi, Ragnya Devi, Rajni, Ragnya Bhagwati, are some more names of the goddess. It one of the most important religious places for the Kashmiri Pandits.

  Tourism: Kheer Bhawani Temple lies in the middle of spring. Tourists and visitors visit the place due to curiosity. Furthermore, the Devotees dedicate milk and kheer to the deity. Kheer Bhawani is a popular tourist destination and Kashmiri Pandits visit it continuously. The architecture of the temple contains smooth grey stones. The temple area has smooth and beautiful stones. Furthermore, chinar trees lie in the open spaces of the temple. The color of the spring water in the temple area changes occasionally. It is believed to be an indication of inauspicious times if the color is dark or blackish. Walter Lawrence, the British settlement commissioner during his visit to the temple spring, saw the water of the spring to have a violet shade

By Train

The main railway station is at Jammu which is at a distance of 295 Km from Ganderbal District. Another close railway station is the Udhampur Railway Station which is around 220 km from Ganderbal District   

By Road

Kheer Bhavani temple is close to the Mansbal Lake of Ganderbal district. The place is having good and smooth roads. It lies 35 km away from Srinagar, 290 km from Jammu. National Highway 1A leads to the district which also connects Leh and Kargil. Regular bus service is available to all cities of Jammu & Kashmir.
