Tulip garden was earlier known as the Model Floriculture Center. The garden was opened in 2007 to boost floriculture and also the tourism in the Valley. Kashmir’s Tulip Garden is Asia’s largest tulip garden. Tulip garden is located on the banks of the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar, Kashmir. It has a large variety of colors of Tulip flowers, and there are over 60 varieties of early, mid, and late blooming tulips. The garden has some more flowering plants too such as daffodils, hyacinths, narcissus, and other ornamental plants. There are Green areas in between the flower bed. The garden has a water channel that passes through the garden . Siraj bagh is another name of the Tulip garden.

The Tulip festival is celebrated each year in the Tulip garden. Tulip festival is aimed at showcasing the range of tulips in the garden. It takes place during the onset of the spring season. The domestic tourists go to Holland just to see tulips, but now this place is near. Tulip garden is more affordable for domestic as well as foreign tourists. The Tulip Garden has about 60 varieties of multi-colored tulips. The tulip festival also showcases the state’s traditional art and culture. The variety and the color of the flowers are unique and diverse.
Origin of Tulips
Tulips have originated from Persia (Iran). Tulips found their way into Europe in the 17th century. The Europeans then created more varieties of tulips. Holland is the largest producer of tulips. The plantation of tulips begins before the start of the winter season. Tulips in thousands are the major attraction in the Tulip garden. The garden looks divine in its full bloom. The mixture of colored tulips looks like rainbow scattering on this garden.
